Team Read

If you need a challenge to keep you reading this summer, why not join the Team Read at your local public library?

You can register now to join, and collect your poster and first set of stickers. As you read six books, you can collect more stickers until you have your bronze, silver and gold.

Once you have read your six books, most libraries will have a prizegiving session where you can collect your certificate and medal for completing the challenge.

Have fun reading this summer!

Book Amnesty

Thank you to everyone who has returned all their library books on time. We are very grateful to you as it gives us time to do some of the book work we can only do in the holidays.

If you haven't checked under your bed yet, there is still time to return all your books before the end of term!

Mairi Hedderwick

Everyone had a great time listening to Mairi's stories about life on the island of Coll. We saw all the pictures from the story of Katie Morag and the Dancing Class. Everyone listened spellbound to the story of the Tiresome Ted and his adventures - how exciting it was to meet Ted himself and have a cuddle!!

Thank you so much to Mairi for coming to our school.

The Ice Cream Con

Jimmy Docherty gave us a great insight into his writing and the ideas behind his first novel 'The Ice Cream Con'. The Primary 7 pupils and staff thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and asked lots of questions about Jimmy's writing, especially his next book which is at the editing stage.

The library will have copies of the Ice Cream Con to sell for the next week or so, the price is £5.99. If you would like a copy, please see Mrs Denham as soon as possible.
